Sectors We Finance

Finance Assets arranges asset finance for UK limited companies across trades and industries, from electrical contractors and civil engineers to manufacturers and hauliers.

Asset finance by sector starts from your trade rather than the machine. Each sector guide covers the equipment that trade buys, how lenders view it and a worked example of the monthly cost. Our equipment hubs cover the same ground from the other direction, by type of machine or vehicle.

Sector guides

Each guide is written for one trade, covering the equipment it relies on and what lenders look at before they fund it.

Equipment hubs

If you know the machine or vehicle rather than the sector, start with the equipment hubs.

Why your sector matters to lenders

Lenders judge a deal on the business as much as the equipment, and each sector brings its own pattern of risk.

  • Lenders specialise. Some focus on construction plant, others on vehicles or agricultural machinery, and some avoid certain trades altogether.
  • Cash flow differs. Construction carries retentions, farming and landscaping are seasonal, and manufacturing supply chains often pay on long terms.
  • Resale values differ. Lenders fund more readily, and for longer, against equipment with a strong second-hand market.
  • Licences and accreditations count. An operator’s licence for a haulier or NICEIC registration for an electrical contractor tells a lender the business is established.

Matching each deal to lenders who already understand the sector is most of what we do, and it is why the same equipment can be priced very differently by two lenders.

Who we can help

We arrange asset finance for UK limited companies and LLPs. We are not authorised by the FCA, so we cannot arrange agreements of £25,000 or less for sole traders or small partnerships, or finance for personal use.
